Ride along on this epic road trip through Central Scotland – haunted castles, golf courses & all!
Do you ever take a “vacation,” only to realize you need a vacation from your vacation? I run into this, um, a lot, trying to squeeze in every last thing instead of sitting back to relax.
When my family and I road tripped through Central Scotland, the “go, go, go” mentality was at an all-time high.
We didn’t just visit a castle: We visited multiple – then slept in one. We didn’t just stop by the gorgeous golf courses: We walked almost half of the St. Andrews Old Course, despite the fact we started our stroll during the golden hour (this seems to happen a lot…).
While semi-crazy, when time is limited (and attractions are anything but), sometimes the best thing to do is suck it up, skimp on sleep and enjoy every single moment because, well, why not?
Here’s a recap of that incredible trip, from day one in St. Andrews to our epic, final hours in Edinburgh.
Obviously we only visited a small portion of this gorgeous country, and trust me – I so, so want to go back. If you have any Scotland suggestions (e.g., where to see those amazing cows!), please share below. Safe travels!
