Here are five things to do on a quick getaway to Florence — from the Ponte Vecchio to pasta, and everything in between!
Whether it’s storybook architecture like the Ponte Vecchio or plate upon plate of pasta and mozzarella, each and every visit to Florence reminds me why I need to come back.
I first visited Florence with my family in 2007, then went on a hiatus until 2015. It wasn’t a planned hiatus, nor was it a smart one. Eight years away from that beautiful Duomo is a bad, bad mistake — and one I’ll never make again.
When I first returned after eight sad years, I was instantly reminded of my favorite experiences, like crossing the (chaos-filled) Ponte Vecchio, or getting lost on a labyrinth of side streets that wind across this busy city.
But instead of me just blabbing about my love affair with Florence (<3 Firenze <3), I’ll show you … in the form of a quick, two-minute video. Hit play!
My Five Favorite Things in Florence:
- The Duomo
- Galleria dell’Accademia
- Piazzale Michelangelo
- Ponte Vecchio
- The food! (And my jeans felt it…)
OK … does all this Florence talk have you ready to hop on a plane? Same. Let’s do it.
But, while we wait, here’s another post on the best things to do and eat in the beautiful city of Florence to inspire your trip!

Thank you for sharing your favourite things in Florence and your video! There are so many things to do and so many beautiful things to see. My top 1 is also the Duomo, I have dedicated an entire article on it and where to go for the best view. You can check it out here: http://www.fibnb.com/insights/florence/the-duomo-of-florence/
