How I Wandered Through Memphis: A Weekend Itinerary

    Trip Planning

I always create an itinerary before I travel—I’m not someone who feels comfortable just showing up somewhere with no plan. I like to know where things are, what I most want to see, and have a general sense of the layout before I arrive. But once I’m there, it becomes more of a guide than a schedule. I give myself the freedom to wander, change plans, or stay a little longer somewhere if it feels right. Some of the best parts of my trips have come from those moments.

Everyone travels differently, and there’s no right or wrong way to plan a trip. But to me, the Wanderlost spirit is less about the plan itself and more about what happens when you’re open to the experience—paying attention, staying curious, and letting the trip unfold in its own way. If you want the full, real-time version of how it all played out—the good, the messy, and the unexpected—my stories have all the details.
