Things are a bit spread out, and while some areas are walkable, you’ll likely want rides to get around easily.
If it’s on your list, book ahead—especially on weekends.
This isn’t a quick stop. Give yourself space to really take it in—it’s powerful and worth it. One of my few regrets from my trip to Memphis was not planning more time for this.
Downtown is more tourist-heavy, while Midtown has a more local, laid-back vibe.

Like any city, some areas feel more comfortable than others. Trust your instincts and plan accordingly, especially if you're solo traveling.
If you hear something good, go in. Some of the best moments on Beale Street (and beyond) happen when you stop planning and just follow the sound.
Memphis isn’t a checklist kind of place. Leave a little room in your schedule—you’ll enjoy it more if you’re not rushing from one thing to the next.
